Step-by-step guide

How to apply for a Bangalore University transcript

Everything you need to request official Bangalore University documents — the process, the documents required, what causes delays, how to apply from abroad, and how to prepare for WES, IQAS, ECCTIS and DataFlow.

In short: to get a Bangalore University transcript, you submit your marks cards and degree details, the University verifies and prepares the transcript, and it is sealed and attested before being couriered to you or sent directly to your evaluation agency. Typical processing time varies by record availability and is subject to Bangalore University procedures.

The process

Apply in five steps

Confirm what you need

Identify the exact document (transcript, marks card, degree, MOI, migration) and where it must go — a university, employer, licensing body or evaluation agency. Unsure? Use the document checklist.

Gather your records

Collect your semester/year marksheets, and your consolidated marks card if you have one, along with your degree or provisional certificate and a government photo ID. Add your passport if documents are going abroad. A consolidated marks card doesn't automatically replace individual marksheets — see the documents checklist if any are missing.

Submit your application

Share your details and documents and confirm the destination or agency. We verify exactly what's required so you don't submit anything unnecessary.

University verification & preparation

Our Bengaluru team liaises with the University to verify records and prepare the document to the required standard, then it is sealed and attested.

Dispatch or direct send

Collect, courier domestically or internationally, or — where accepted — send sealed directly to your evaluation agency. Track it through to delivery.

Documents required

What to keep ready

  • All semester / year marksheets available to you, plus your consolidated marks card if you have one (it doesn't automatically replace individual marksheets — see the documents checklist if any are missing)
  • Degree certificate or provisional degree certificate
  • Government photo ID (Aadhaar or passport)
  • Passport data page (if sending documents abroad)
  • Your register / roll number and year of study
  • Evaluation-agency reference or application number, if you have one

Not everyone needs every item — exact requirements are confirmed for your case first. See the full documents checklist.

Watch out for

Common causes of delay

  • Older or pre-reorganisation records can require additional University record searches and take longer to retrieve.
  • Missing marks cards may need to be looked into on your specific record before the case can proceed.
  • Name mismatches across certificates and ID may need to be clarified or corrected before the case can proceed.
  • Incomplete agency requirements — sending in the wrong format causes re-submission.
  • University administrative workload can affect how quickly an individual case progresses.
  • Attestation/apostille steps add time when documents are used abroad.

Processing depends on your specific record rather than a fixed timeline — see our full breakdown of common delays to work out which stage your case is at.

Applying from abroad

Living outside India? You can still apply

Bangalore University alumni around the world apply remotely every day. You generally don't need to travel to Bengaluru yourself — share your records digitally and we coordinate the case. Depending on your record, some University or college-side steps may still need local follow-up, which we handle on the ground. See our full guide on applying from outside India.

Finished documents can be dispatched internationally in sealed University envelopes, or — where the receiver accepts it — sent directly to your evaluation agency or university. See guidance by destination.

About applying from outside India

Sending to an evaluation agency?

Each agency has its own submission rules. Preparing to the right standard the first time avoids rejection and re-work.

Evaluation-agency considerations

WES, IQAS, ECCTIS & DataFlow at a glance

Requirements change over time and by applicant — always confirm current rules with the agency. This is orientation, not a substitute for their official instructions.

WES (Canada/US)

Requirements depend on your current WES application and can change — always follow the instructions shown in your own WES account. See our WES Canada step-by-step guide →

IQAS (Alberta)

Requires documents sent directly by the issuing institution; format and sealing matter. IQAS details →

ECCTIS (UK ENIC)

Used for UK recognition; may accept verified/emailed documents per their process. ECCTIS details →

DataFlow (Gulf)

Primary Source Verification for Gulf licensing; the University confirms records directly. DataFlow details →

FAQ

Common questions

Processing depends on your specific record and the steps required for your case — a recent, straightforward record and one needing archive retrieval won't necessarily move at the same pace. There's no fixed number of days we can quote. See our full breakdown of common delays to work out which stage your case is at.
It depends on the agency's current receiving rules and your own application, which can change over time. On the Bangalore University side, we prepare and verify the documents required; how they then reach your evaluator follows that evaluator's current instructions. For WES specifically, see our WES Canada step-by-step guide.
Often yes. If you have a consolidated marks card, share it too — but it doesn't automatically substitute for individual marksheets. Share what you have and we'll review what's needed for your specific record; see the documents checklist for more detail.
